Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Diagrams.Design website and browser app at diagrams.design and app.diagrams.design. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these Terms. For questions, contact hello@diagrams.design.

The service

Diagrams.Design lets you create, animate, save and export diagrams, including images, GIFs and video, in a web browser. Features, usage limits and available export formats depend on your plan and may change as the service develops. You need a supported browser and an internet connection for sign-in and saved work. Some export processing happens in your browser, so performance depends on your device.

Your account

You sign in using a Google account. You are responsible for your account activity and for keeping access to your Google account secure. Provide accurate information and contact us promptly if you suspect unauthorized use. You must be old enough to enter into a binding agreement where you live; if you are under 18, use the service only with a parent or guardian's permission.

Your content

You retain ownership of diagrams, text, images and other content you create or upload. You give us a limited permission to host, process, display and transmit that content as needed to operate the features you use, including saving your work and making a template available if you choose to publish it. This permission ends when your content is deleted from our active systems, subject to necessary backups and legal retention. We do not publicly display your private diagrams or uploads for demonstrations or marketing without your permission. You are responsible for having the rights needed to use and share your content. You may use your own exports for personal or commercial purposes, subject to rights in any third-party material they contain.

Do not upload or publish content that infringes others' rights, is unlawful, contains malicious code, or violates others' privacy. Do not attempt to disrupt the service, bypass plan limits or security controls, scrape or access accounts or data without authorization, or use the app for unlawful purposes. We may remove content or restrict access when reasonably necessary to address a violation or protect the service and its users.

Plans and payments

The app may offer a Free plan and paid Pro subscriptions. Current features, limits, prices, billing intervals, trial terms and any taxes are shown in the app and in Stripe Checkout before you confirm a purchase. Paid subscriptions renew automatically for the selected monthly or annual period unless you cancel. An eligible first subscription may include a seven-day trial that requires a payment method; if you do not cancel before the trial ends, the selected paid plan begins and Stripe charges the payment method shown at checkout. Complimentary access offered without a payment method ends on the date shown in your account and does not itself create a charge.

You can manage or cancel a subscription through Account → Manage subscription. A standard cancellation takes effect at the end of the current trial or paid billing period, and access continues until then. Deleting your account cancels an active subscription immediately and removes your app content as described below. Except where the law requires otherwise or we expressly state otherwise, fees already paid are not refunded for unused time. Stripe processes payments and its terms also apply to its checkout and billing portal. If a payment fails, access to paid features may be limited after any applicable recovery period.

Availability and changes

We work to keep the service available, but temporary interruptions, errors and changes can occur. Save or download important work when you need your own copy. We may update features, limits and prices. Changes to a paid plan's price will be communicated before they affect a future renewal where required by law; you may cancel before the change takes effect. We may update these Terms by posting a revised version with a new “Last updated” date and giving additional notice where required.

Ending your account

You may stop using the service at any time. To delete your account and saved content, use Account → Delete account and follow the confirmation steps. Deletion removes your active and trashed diagrams, templates, palettes and uploaded images from our active systems and cannot be undone. Some billing, analytics, email or backup records may be retained as explained in our Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate access for a serious or repeated breach of these Terms, security concerns, or legal requirements, with notice when reasonably practicable.

Intellectual property

The Diagrams.Design name, logo, software, interface and service materials belong to us or our licensors. These Terms give you permission to use the service as provided; they do not transfer ownership of those materials. You may not copy, reverse engineer or redistribute the app except as permitted by law or with our written permission.

Responsibility and legal rights

We provide the service with reasonable care, but cannot promise that it will always be uninterrupted, error-free or suitable for every purpose. To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the service. Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded, including any applicable consumer guarantees. Your rights under applicable law take priority over any inconsistent part of these Terms.
